A new college course will teach its students the essentials of photography on the iPhone.
The five-week course is thought to be the first in the UK to focus solely on phone photography. It sits alongside more traditional photography courses on lighting for portraits and using a darkroom.
Richard Gray, who will be teaching the course at Kensington and Chelsea College, said: “I developed the course after discovering there were a lot of people who had an iPhone who didn’t really know how to use the camera. With the right apps and skills the iPhone can be a powerful creative tool.”
The course reflects the fact that more and more people are abandoning cameras in favour of their phones, with the iPhone 4 becoming the most popular camera on the photosharing website Flickr last year.
